Chris first came to the company I work for to talk to us about Health and Wellbeing and share his knowledge, as part of a 12-week plan.
I attended those sessions as much as I could and I found them extremely interesting, as Chris demonstrated an all-rounded knowledge and passion for the subject, which I found extremely motivating.
Prior to this, I had been following the Weight Watchers plan for a couple of years and although it helped me losing weight and I had adopted better eating habits, I was keen to get back to eating non low-fat food and therefore decided to sign-up for Kelly’s Coaching online plan.
Adjusting to the food plan initially was a little tricky as I struggled to meet my targets (mostly when it came to protein), but I finally got my head round it, and have not looked back, as I have been enjoying the food, been snacking less and continued with my weight loss.
Chris checks in by email or text message every other or so, and is available to provide help or answer questions when required, as well as encouragement when progress has been made.
I also started jogging 3 times a week, as I was determined to jog the 5K Race for Life at the end of June, and combined with a few more physical activities and Chris’s tailored home circuits’ exercises, I am the fittest I have ever been.
Although my goal was mostly to maintain my weight, I have actually managed to lose around 4 kg, and dropped a dress size since starting on Kelly’s Coaching’s plan 3 months ago. I would definitely recommend Kelly’s Coaching to anyone needing that little extra help and motivation to get fit.
I decided to treat myself for my 40th birthday to a Personal Trainer for the year.
Over the course of what was extended to 2 years I discovered a whole new depth to weight training and just what one’s body is capable of. However, I started to be concerned with the poor progress of some of my historically weak body parts and a diet that was composed of so many supplements (most of which were recommended and bought through my PT). I even started to suspect that the benefit of these supplements were more for my PT’s pocket than my own development.
The situation changed when I was transferred to the UK (from South Africa) by my company for a 1 year period. This was when I first met Chris Kelly, from Kelly’s Coaching. Chris comes across very sincerely, whereas the other PT’s were physically more, intense and very focused on the intensity of the training … which was what I was more accustomed too! Nonetheless, I was intrigued by Chris’ approach and felt that this was an opportunity to try something different from the usual PT direction. I took the plunge and signed up with Chris and have since mid 2012 been training and eating per his plans.
The biggest surprise was that Chris did not want to shove copious quantities of expensive supplements down my throat. Now I eat significant quantities of fresh Fruit and vegetables with my meat, with no requirement for any of the usual cupboard full of supplements. Over the course of the last 9 months I have transformed my body, and especially the weak areas which have finally caught up to the rest of my body (which has not been the case for the last 3 years). During the training sessions, Chris observes my style and progress per body part and on a regular basis updates my training programme to address any short-comings and eliminate any plateau’s in my progress.
Thanks to Chris I am in the best shape of my life, and more importantly thanks to the wholesome nutrition I feel better than I have ever felt….Thanks Chris
