How important are Goals?

Very. They affect every single thing we do, from the time we get up, to what we get done in the day, to the food we eat etc etc. I mean the truth is if you don’t have goals then you’re not living. We are all deposited 24 hours a day but our goals help us decide how to spend them. I mean we see successful people in the news, at work, in the gym, on our social media sites but what is it that makes them more successful than the average joe? That’s right GOALS.

What makes Goals so special?

Goals effect your very being. They give us motivation and drive, they give us a sense of direction, they make decision making easy. Let’s say your goal is to lose weight well you are going to have to eat right and exercise. So when it comes to dinner time are you gonna/or should you go for a healthy dinner or a take away, should you been spending all your spare time lounging around on couch or should you be spending some of that free time exercise? Your goals let you know what decisions need to be made.

How to make Goals powerful?

smart

Make them S.M.A.R.T

S = Specific

M = Measurable

A = Achievable

R = Realistic

T = Time Bound

But there’s more to it than that. Do you want to know the extra secret ingredients they don’t tell you? Ok I’ll tell you.

Make it Personal – You’re the one that’s gonna have to put in the hard work so the goal needs to be about you.

Remove Limitation – Understand that there isn’t anything you can’t achieve if you are willing to put the work in.

Add Passion – A goal should consume you. It should get to a stage where success is the only option because you want it so bad.

Get Real – It’s gonna take HARD WORK get used to it.

Stop Expecting – Someone/something is not going to get the goal for you.

Learn to Love Failure – Failure is part of the journey to success. Everyone fails but successful people keep going.

Brake Things Down – Set huge goals and then brake them down into small ones.
